The mission of the Hospital del Nino is to provide child care services with emphasis on solving complex problems and promote physical, mental and social health of children through comprehensive care with equity, quality and warmth, teaching and research by encouraging and respecting guidelines from the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The burn unit at Children's Hospital is a multidisciplinary team consisting of professionals specializing in pediatrics, plastic surgery, psychiatry, nursing, nutrition, physiotherapy among others. The IWCBF has supplied cloth to Hospital Del Nino for making compressive clothing, and tools and equipment including thermoplastic material for positioning splints that are used for burn patients.
